smarthistory.org

hydeordie:

Ok, this is officially my new favorite website.*  You can search for art related posts by Time, Style, Artist, or Themes.  It has a super easy layout (Lotte Meijer is responsible for the slick design) and really interesting posts, artworks, and podcasts.

This site is being developed by Beth Harris and Steven Zucker as a dynamic enhancement (or even substitute) for the static traditional Western art history textbook.

This is a great place to find quick answers to questions, or to spend lots of time on really learning and digesting information.

*Like I might actually buy internet to be able to play on this website.

I really love the idea of this website. I mean, what a source. I can’t wait to break this out when it comes to prelim research for theory essays.
