AIX Creperie is my favourite thing about Melbourne, full stop. My friend Vicky and I found an abandoned, broken bike in the CBD at 1am one night. Seeing as we couldn’t ride it back to Vicky’s apartment in South Yarra, we tried to take it onto a tram. After that failed (tram driver kicked up a fuss), we made a pact to return to the CBD at 5am to pick it up. The bike was gone by the time we got back, as expected, and we were left to wander around the deserted city pre-dusk in search for something open. AIX, open at 6:30am, let us in while they were setting up, cooked us breakfast and served us coffee.
